Health Care Coverage

Medicaid Coverage:
- is an income based health care coverage for anyone who has a medical need and is:
  under age of 21
  
  65 and older - The elderly and disabled have an asset test.
  
  disabled - The elderly and disabled have an asset test.
  
  pregnant
  
  has a deprived child
Healthy Steps:
- is an income based health care coverage for children up to the age of 19 who do not qualify for Medicaid. The program offers comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage and it is administered by the state of ND. Children with Indian Health Services may participate in Healthy Steps.

Caring for Children:
- is an income based health care coverage for children up to the age of 19 who do not qualify for Medicaid or Heathly Steps and have no other insurance. Benefits include primary and preventative medical and dental care. This program is through ND Caring Foundation established byBlue Cross Blue Shield of ND (BCBSND). BCBSND provides Caring for Children administrative services as an in-kind donation.

Medicare Saving Program:
- assists with medicare costs for people with limited income and assets.

Basic Care Assistance:
- is for someone who lives in a licensed basic care facility and qualifies for Medicaid.
