States Attorney

State's Attorneys serve as legal counsel and an advisor to the county. Duties of the State's Attorney includerepresenting the state in criminal cases acting as prosecutor anddefending all suits brought against the county. They provide state's attorney opinion to county, district, township, and school district officers on matters relating to the duties of their office. State's Attorneys provide guidance to county commissioners and officials in interpreting the meaning of the N.D. Century Code and legislation.
